Introduction to
Mindfulness
Cultivating our natural ability to live calmly in the present moment is at the heart of mindfulness practice. While people have practiced mindfulness for centuries, for the past 30 years Jon Kabat-Zinn, molecular biologist and founding director of the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, has designed a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program to help people reduce symptoms of stress, pain, and illness.
The Introduction to Mindfulness class is a casual, fun, gentle entry into the practice of mindfulness, loosely based on Kabat-Zinn’s MBSR program. You will learn methods for reconnecting with the deep wisdom and wholeness that reside within you. Benefits range from the physical, such as reduced symptoms of chronic pain and lessened insomnia, to the emotional, such as a reduction in unwanted behaviors, greater enthusiasm for life, and increased confidence.
The course consists of three sessions that run from 6:30-8:00pm. Cost for the course (three sessions) is $65. Everyone is welcome, including the thoughtful curious. Dress comfortably.
Location of course:
