Heads Up Meditation (suitable for beginners)

We often think of meditation as being done with eyes closed, but this class teaches an eyes-open technique, as the goal of this type of meditation is to live intelligently and compassionately within a world that we see, taste, feel, touch, and experience every second. We will cover the goals for meditation and the mechanics of sitting, as well as how to live meditatively—how to incorporate meditation into your “real” life.

Sessions begin with a talk about meditation and will include meditation practice. There will be brief informal discussions and Q&A periods when appropriate.

Cushions and chairs will be provided. Come in loose, comfortable clothing. You may want to bring a shawl or throw to use while sitting.

Participants must commit to attending the 4 sessions and to sitting for 10 minutes each day between sessions.

Please read the meditation FAQ before registering.
