I love what I do. It’s wonderful to finally be able to say that. I’ve had a lot of jobs—teaching in public schools and colleges in Hampton and Newport News. I’ve worked for software corporations. I lasted a week as a receptionist. Sold shoes and hemmed leather pants in a mall. As I child I picked a neighbor’s flowers and peddled them door-to-door. But, finally, I love what I do.
I’m a hypnotherapist certified through the National Guild of Hypnosis and The International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association. In addition to receiving basic certification, I’ve trained in advanced hypnosis, hypnoanalysis, age regression, past life regression, and forgiveness therapy (studying something you’re passionate about is as easy as eating rich, dark chocolate).
I’ve studied and practiced meditation through various programs offered by Shambhala and am continuing to do so, learning so much. Practicing meditation has awakened me in ways that I could never have imagined, ways that sometimes thrill and often challenge me, but I’m tremendously grateful.
I’m a Peninsula native who loves to cook and try new foods. I get excited about going on walks and taking out my pedal-powered kayak, and don’t like to go for long without playing my piano. I love to laugh, even if I’m the only one doing so. Listening to people share ideas and dreams makes me especially happy.
I graduated from local universities with degrees in Education, Literature, and Creative Writing, but that was before I knew what I wanted to do.
